So several days ago, I bought the LG 47LH40, 47″ LCD, 1080p, 120Hz:

I’ve noticed some image jutter on fast moving scenes. The image quality seems fantastic regarding color, brightness, etc, and the additional features are great, but the image movement technology seems to be trippin my eyes. First of all, can someone explain if this is mostly a problem with LCDs that I won’t have with plasma’s? Then tell me, will one of these options from Best Buy be better for me (and if so, which one)? I think the main thing that keeps me from immediately returning my LG for one of these is that I’m very concerned about glare on the television, as I have a lamp in the back of the room behind my recliner I watch tv in, and my living room is just generally well-lit. Thoughts???

Plasma definitely don’t have any issues with response time.
Panasonic makes great plasma.
It is recommended to put lights BEHIND the TV and yes, do expect some reflections.

Try a Samsung LCD TV, ask in the store first to look at a demo, good stores will let you look at some DVDs you know on them.
If they want you’re custom, they’ll be happy to help. If they won’t help, go to another shop.
A decent LCD TV should give good results, also check your connection, ask in the store. The LG is a good brand, it may be your connection.

Honestly, i’ve heard the same thing over and over from people who own LCD’s with 120hz or 240hz refresh rates! Most people hate the effect, but some people aren’t bothered by it! It’s weird!
Plasma TV’s do not, and will never have that problem! The difference between LCD’s and Plasma’s is the pixel response times! Plasma response times are near instant(.001ms)! The fastest LCD right now is 2.7ms(unconfirmed)! Refresh rates for a Plasma is a redundant feature and you can have a refresh rate of 60hz and it’ll still look a thousand times better then a LCD’s 240hz refresh rate!
And newer Plasmas now have excellent technologies incorporated in them to eliminate burn-in, image retention and screen glare! Plus Panasonic & Samsung now have 2009 models that are some of the most energy efficient Plasma’s ever! I HIGHLY recommend getting a Panasonic OR Samsung Plasma! You WON”T be disappointed!
